#3 Michigan is 5-0 and #21 Michigan State is 7-0 in duals this season, both teams seeing only non-conference action so far. The Wolverines will be heading to East Lansing to face their in-state rival at Jenison Field House to kick off the Big Ten season.
We could start out the dual with a ranked matchup at 125lbs, depending on who Michigan sends out. Kurt McHenry is currently ranked 24th, but Jack Medley, an NCAA qualifier, has been getting the recent starts. Lujan is ranked one spot behind McHenry, and this is a potential swing match that the Spartans would need.
133lbs is potentially the match of the dual, #5 Dylan Ragusin will see #11 Rayvon Foley. The two met twice last year, with Foley taking the win in the dual and Ragusin getting revenge at the B1G tournament.
There are two other ranked matches, which include 157lbs and 184lbs. Michigan is ranked higher in both, but both Saldate and Malczewski are NCAA qualifiers for the Spartans. 165lbs is another exciting match, as 2x All American Cam Amine will take on Caleb Fish, who was a prep stand out and state champ for Eaton Rapids. Fish was a qualifier a season ago.
The dual starts tonight at 6:30pm EST and will be streaming on B1G+.

On Sunday, Michigan will host #17 Wisconsin. Wisconsin owns a 6-3 dual record and is 0-2 in Big Ten action after falling to Penn State and Illinois last weekend. The Badgers boast eight nationally-ranked wrestlers, including three in the top five: #5 Eric Barnett (125), #2 Austin Gomez (149) and #5 Dean Hamiti (165).
Michigan is ranked higher at 133, 141, 157, 184, and 285. If the dual played out to reflect the rankings, we could be looking at a 5-5 match split where bonus points could be the difference. The match of the dual, however, will be at 165lbs. 2x All American will take on #5 Dean Hamiti. Amine, a grad of Detroit Catholic Central HS, won that match 7-5 at last year's NCAA tournament.

After hosting Michigan tonight, Michigan State will travel to Minnesota for a dual on Sunday. The Golden Gophers are 0-1 in B1G action after dropping a dual to #7 Northwestern, however, Minnesota has 10 ranked wrestlers, making them a very tough team to beat. At 125lbs, All American Patrick McKee did not wrestle against Northwestern, so it will be interesting to see if he is back in the lineup. Other matches to watch are at 133, 157, 184, and 197 where we will see ranked match ups. The Spartans will likely need to win 3 or 4 of those weights to win the dual. 285lbs is another winnable match for the Spartans, where D2 national champ Ryan Vasbinder will take on #25 Garrett Joles, who is up to heavyweight this year.

CMU is at home with two duals this weekend, starting with a dual against Northern Illinois tonight in Mt. Pleasant. This is a winnable dual for the Chippewas, but they will need wins from all of their seasoned upperclassmen. Without doubt the match of the dual, especially for Michigan folks, will be at 157lbs where returning NCAA qualifier Corbyn Munson of Chelsea HS will meet Westland John Glenn alum Anthony Gibson for NIU.
On Sunday. the Chippewas will host Southern Illinois at Edwardsville. This is another dual where CMU will be looking for a MAC win. The Chippewas will be looking to Munson, Lovett, and Hubbard in the middle of the lineup to pick up some wins. Heavyweight could be a big match, where Caves is putting together a solid season for CMU, and Richmond HS alum Dan McKiernan will take the mat for SIUE.
