3A State Predictions

Before we move to the predictions for this week, lets take a look back and see how we did in our sectionals predictions.

Section A- Correctly predicted 8 of the 14 Section Champs, and 20 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 64 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 76%
Section B- Correctly predicted 10 of the 14 Section Champs and 19 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 70 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 83%

Only 18 Sectional Champs is abysmal, but hitting on 80% of the State Qualifiers is phenomenal

Overview: Good balance between the sectionals should give us quite a few weight classes where we have great semifinals and finals matchups. While there will be several rematches from last week, there are a few weight classes that we should see some highly anticipated finals matches between Sectional Champs.

Team Race: Lumpkin Co won the State Duals in a close one over Columbus, but they didn't have a very good Sectional tournament, picking up 10 qualifiers, but only 1 Champ. With Columbus having 6 potential State Champions, they are in the driver seat this weekend, if 3 or 4 of those guys falter before the finals, then we could be in for a fantastic finish.
