The USA Freestyle Team entered this year's World Championships with high hopes, behind the momentum of World #1 Jordan Burroughs who had not lost in three years of World and Olympic competition heading in.
The last two days have been tough on Team USA, however, as the American contingent will walk away from the World Championships with only two medals, and no wrestlers advancing to the Gold Medal match.
Burroughs was the last hope, wrestling today in the Semifinals, but fell to Russian Denis Tsarguh 9-2 in the semifinals after suffering an MCL injury earlier in the day that played an obvious role in Burroughs' mobility.
Burroughs finished on a high note despite the injury, scoring a fall in the Bronze medal match to win his 4th consecutive World medal.
Heavyweight Tervel Dlagnev put together a solid outing on the first day of competition, earning the Bronze medal in the 120kg weight class to break through and secure his first medal after a couple 5th-place finishes.
Team USA was an overall 15-7 in the freestyle World Championships, read below for full match results.
