Campos hasn’t seen much action this year so it’s questionable whether or not he’ll be competing Saturday. If not, Poupore is definitely the guy to beat. He’s one of the state’s best freshmen and I could see him placing top 4 at the state tournament. The rest of the field is fairly wide open, but features several guys that look like potential SQ’s in D1/D2.

Here we have an extremely deep weight, and the winner could potentially emerge with the #1 spot in the P15. Trombley is one of the top 2 freshmen in the state and probably somewhere in the 25-50 range nationally. He had a bit of a rough day at the GFC, but has been dominant throughout the scholastic season. He’ll be looking for a matchup with Rivera, but that may not occur as he has been at 119 for most of the season. There’s plenty of additional firepower as well. Hall in particular is one of the biggest strongest 112lbrs in the state and could present some matchup problems.

No question who the favorite is here. Gomez is arguably one of the top 10 pound-for-pound wrestlers in the state and has also had a great deal of success on the national level. There’s a chance Rivera-Garcia and/or Trombley end up here. That would make things more interesting, but regardless I don’t see Gomez losing on Saturday. D3 champ Serbus will have a good shot at the finals, but he’s taken some losses this season and is giving up some size at 119.

This isn’t one of the deeper weight classes, but it should still feature some pretty big matchups in the semis and finals. Renicker is the favorite and beat Eldred earlier this season, but both of them as well as Felix are very capable of claiming this chart.

Ranked #11 in the country at 132lbs, Storr is on a roll and beat P15 #1 at 135 Jaedin Sklapsky on Wednesday night. The field is solid, but Storr is the heaviest favorite of the tournament. The other finals spot will likely come down to a competitive matchup between Bohnsack and Beardsley. However, Ajami is quite dangers as well and could be an X.factor

This weight could feature a potential showdown of divisional #1’s between Sklapsky and Trevino, However, there’s no guarantee either wins the tournament with the ever-dangerous Wellman in the field. SQ’s Vaughn and Todd along with RQ’s Ramos and Wibert round out one of the event’s deepest fields.

This is one of the weaker weights on paper, but it should still be plenty of fun to watch. Sharp is one of the state’s elite freshmen and Saturday should be a good gauge of where he stands. Meanwhile, Dumond is coming off a good day at New Lothrop last weekend, and Bundnon, Phelps, and Paul are all veterans with plenty of experience. Hall could definitely be a sleeper as well.

This weight is loaded with talent and pretty balanced. The favorite is McVicker who has been having a great season, but all the other ranked guys are capable of being right in the mix as well. As of now Shaw and Salmon both look like title contenders in D1, while Briggs and Flemming both have the potential to be top 3 guys in D3. Nieman is a talented underclassman who is a bit under the radar, but he definitely has the ability to knock off someone ranked.

This is a very deep group, but I think Parks will be a step ahead. He’s an absolute hammer. I could see just about anyone else meeting him in the finals. Dey is a serious title contender in D3 and probably the best bet, but it will be a dogfight. Leyrer is a star in the making and Mashke is having a breakout senior season that includes a win over Norris.

State champ Logan Ritchie is the guy to beat, but once again there will be shortage of contenders. Dawkins had a disappointing state tournament last season but has been lights out so far in his senior season. Mourer is also off to a strong start and is a tricky matchup for just about anyone. Balogh, who beat Dawkins in the bloodround last season, has been a bit up and down but has proven himself capable of beating just about anyone. Dey could definitely make a run to the finals as well considering that he’s the highest placer in the group and beat Dawkins at last year’s Mooney Classic. SQ Millheim will be in the mix as well and rounds out a terrific field.

Brish enters this field as one of the tournament’s most overwhelming favorites. His toughest opposition should come from Slattery who’s coming off of a big win over Hartland’s Lucas Laforge.

The tournament’s most wide open field alongside 285 , this could truly go any number of ways. Griffin wrestled well at the Goodrich TOC and has a lot of experience that includes wrestling in Fargo in the past. RQ’s Buena, Bangerer, and Spedowsk will be directly in the mix, and Dowd could be a sleeper as well.

This is a stellar group of big guys that could potentially include 50% of this year’s D1 state placers at 215. Ready is definitely the favorite, but he’ll need to bring his A-game. Tis had an impressive showing at the Goodrich TOC where he finished runner-up. Meanwhile, Fischer also had a strong performance over the holiday break. He was runner-up at the very tough North Canton Holiday tournament. Gross will be right there as well, and Higelmire is not far behind. Talented underclassmen Barry and Cortez bring additional depth to the table.

There’s not much depth on paper, but I’d imagine there’s a few off the radar heavies that will be very competitive here. The favorite is Conquest who made the finals at the DCC Invite earlier this month.
