6A State Predictions

Before we move to the predictions for this week, lets take a look back and see how we did in our sectionals predictions.

Section A- Correctly predicted 9 of the 14 Section Champs, and 20 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 63 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 75%
Section B- Correctly predicted 6 of the 14 Section Champs and 19 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 69 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 82%

Only 15 of the Champs is atrocious, but I chalk that up to Region 2 beating itself up in the sectional finals in Section B. However, hitting on 79% of the State Qualifiers is pretty good.

Overview: Section B was an absolute MONSTER of a tournament with the 3 (Arguably 4) toughest Regions all lumped together. Despite there being a tremendous disparity between the two sections, it really only effects the depth of the qualifiers in this situation. The Champs coming out of Section A are on par with Section B, however 3-6 from Section A will struggle against their Section B opponents.

Team Race: This Classification was absolutely crazy last year with a legitimate 7 teams capable of winning the team title. This year there are really only 3 teams in the hunt with Woodward attacking it with top end placers and South Effingham and Glynn overwhelming everyone with numbers. It will be interesting to see how things shake out, as none of the 3 teams in the hunt can afford to have many upsets.
