Recap: Fantastic dual here, especially in the first half of it. No win was bigger than #3 Nate Carter (Clarkston) picking up a massive upset over state champ #1 Fuchs. Carter used a 7-point move in the first period to coast to a 9-4 win. The Shamrocks wouldn't be denied though, going on a 28-point run from 150 through 215 to seal the dual. Clarkston brought it to a 14-point deficit with pins at 285 and 106 to end it. Alex Buskirk had a big win at 150 to get DCC back on track after the upset at 144, starting DCC on that 28-point run. They'll see #3 Davison in the finals.
Recap: One of the better duals in recent memory in D1. Without their starters at 106, 113, and 285, Davison still found a way to get this one done in an upset. Brighton won this dual by 30+ last month, so the Cardinals had to change their lineup around and flip a few matches. There was no bigger move than state champ Vaughn dropping to 113 for the first time this season to beat state qualifier Shinkonis. Ultimately, this dual came down to the 4th criteria, which was more wins. Davison won the win battle 8-6. Brandon Glisson bumped up to 285 to pick up the tech to seal the dual for Davison.
Recap: On paper, there was a path for Clinton to be extremely competitive in this dual. However, Hudson shut that down pretty quickly. After a Clinton pin at 113 to start the dual, Hudson scored 32 straight points and did not look back from there. Freshman Beckett Campbell had a massive win over #1 Long at 138lbs, which Clinton absolutely had to have to stay in this dual. Returning champ Hudson advances to another final where they will see #3 Martin.
Recap: Just like Davison/Brighton, this was one of the best duals of the tournament so far. #2 St. Louis and #3 Martin exchanged wins for the first six matches before Martin strung four consecutive wins together. St. Louis picked up big decisions at 175 and 190 to keep them in the dual, but a major at 215 for Martin set up Lopez to pick up the fall at 106 and send Climax-Scotts/Martin to the finals. This will be the first finals appearance for Martin since 2004.
