Recap: The last trip for Ogemaw Heights to the team state tournament was in 1998, and that resulted in a state championship. No such magic for Ogemaw Heights this year, as they ran into a top-30 team in the country in Dundee. The Vikings picked up 12 pins en route to a 75-6 win. The lone winner for Ogemaw Heights was state qualifier Roman Gouelette, as he picked up a pin at 113lbs. The Vikings will see #4 Allegan in tomorrow morning's semifinals.
Recap: In Adrian Madison's first-ever appearance at the team state tournament, they had an ideal start with Borders picking up a pin. Yale performed like the #2 team in the state from there, winning 41-24. Yale picked up 4 pins and added two techs to put this one away. They will see #6 Lakewood in tomorrow morning's semis.
Recap: Wild dual here, as Lakewood pulled off the upset over the 3-seed. Whitehall jumped out to a 16-0 lead, and they looked to be well on their way to their 5th straight quarterfinal win before Aguilera picked up a massive fall over #1 Jenkins (up from 215) to cut the Lakewood deficit to 16-9. In the next match, Harmer picked up a huge win over state qualifier Leeke to really put Lakewood in the driver's seat. In the final match, Villanueva cruised to a 19-3 tech to send Lakewood to the semis against #2 Yale.
Recap: Another roller coaster of a dual in the 4/5 match. Allegan and Hart traded wins up until 138, where Allegan would pull away with four straight wins to close out the dual. One of the key swing matches for the Tigers was Collier's big win at 113 to get Allegan back on track after a few tough losses at 285 and 106. The win was Allegan's first in a quarterfinal since 2014, when they strung together 3 straight semifinal appearances. They will see #1 Dundee in tomorrow morning's semifinal round.
