Outlook: Shout out to Ogemaw Heights for making their third-ever team state tournament. This will be their first appearance since 1998, a year in which they won the D2 team state championship. They're also having a successful individual season, with 5 state qualifiers going to Ford Field. However, Dundee just ended the season as the #1 overall team in the state, and they have 14 state qualifiers for next weekend. Dundee will roll here, but Ogemaw Heights may find a couple wins, depending on the lineup that Dundee rolls out in the first round.
Prediction: Dundee +50
Outlook: Yale is coming off a massive win over then #2 Algonac, and they've set themselves up nicely with the 2-seed. Adrian Madison has had a roller coaster of a postseason, but they're excited to make their first-ever team state appearance. We expect Yale to pick up their first win at the team state tournament since 1990, but expect Adrian Madison to make this one competitive. They have a solid lineup all the way through, and they will force Yale to have to win a few ranked matches.
Prediction: Yale +12
Outlook: Whitehall won this match earlier in the season by a 44-26 score, which is one of only two repeat duals in the quarterfinals (Clarkston/Bedford in D1). Whitehall has been here 9 of the last 10 years, including their current streak of 5 appearances. Lakewood is in their second consecutive appearance and looking for their first QF win since 2004. We expect this dual to be closer than it was earlier this season, with Whitehall still having slightly too much firepower.
Prediction: Whitehall +10
Outlook: These are two of the hotter teams in the state. Hart has been ranked wire-to-wire, while Allegan has burst onto the scene in the second half of the season. Hart has an 8-7 advantage on state qualifiers, so they will be looking to pick up their first dual win in 7 trips to the team state tournament. Shockingly, this is Allegan's first appearance since 2016 after their impressive run in 2000's and 2010's. This dual could come down to matches like 106 and 138, where Allegan likely needs to win them both. We will go with the Tigers in this one, but we consider this a complete toss-up.
Prediction: Allegan +3
