Grappler Elite League #2 set for DCC Jan 7th

The second qualifying tournament for the Grappler Elite League will go down in two weeks at DCC the day after the DCC High School Invite on Sunday, January 7th.

This is the 2nd of 3 qualifying tournaments leading up to the first Grappler Elite League Final which will be on Sunday, February 11th at Grand Valley State University.

The last qualifier will be at Lowell HS on February 4th.

Grappler Elite League - Qualifer #2 (DCC)

Date: Sunday, January 7th @ Detroit Catholic Central HS

Age Group: 6th - 8th Graders (5th Graders may petition in)

Wt Classes: 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 120, 130, 145, 160, 175, 195, 285

Eligibility
‍1) Must be returning state placewinner in any of the state organizations
2) Option to petition in if you did not satisfy placement criteria.  

Qualification: Top 6 placewinners in each bracket will qualify for the GEL Finals
*You may move up weights for the finals, but not down 

Next Comps Sun, Feb 4 - GEL #3 @ Lowell High School
Sun, Feb 11 - GEL Finals @ Grand Valley State University

Pre-Competition Requirements
All athletes must have USAW Membership.  Limited Folkstyle is an option.

Coaches must have USAW Coaches Leadership Certification

Tournament Format
‍Full, double-elimination brackets placing to 6th
Round-robin in the case of six wrestlers or less

Rules
1:30-1:30-1:30 period length
Adapted NFHS rules, to include college out-of-bounds
Headgear is optional
