Breakdown: Vikings versus Vikings. Lakewood is back to the Quarters for the first time since 2017 and draws top-seeded Dundee. Dundee comes in with 12 wrestlers ranked inside the top three from 157 down, as well as six others who were ranked during the season. Lakewood advanced five to the state tournament and will have some opportunities to pick up victories in the dual, but it's simply a tall task to try and match up with the defending champs. Dundee by 48.
Breakdown: Solid matchup here in the 4-5 quarter between returning semifinalist Constantine and Hart, who is seeking its first semifinals berth in their fifth-straight trip to Kalamazoo. Weight for weight, this should be the most competitive dual of the session, with nearly every one being somewhat contested. Whoever can control the middle weights (132-175) will come out on top most likely. Constantine by 9.
Breakdown: Yale looks to continue their hot streak into the Quarters after knocking off three ranked teams en route to their first Team State appearance in over 30 years. Clinton has been rock solid all season long and is battle tested as well, with eight state qualifiers to their credit. We're going to see some great matches in the lower weights which will be critical. The other interesting dynamic will be 157-175 and who will match up where. Without a doubt, it's the dual of the session and could see either team coming out on top. Clinton by 8.
Breakdown: Second-seeded Whitehall looks to start their run back to the finals against Gladstone, who comes in with an 18-1 record. The Vikings have a very solid lineup from top to bottom, which should be enough to get them through to the semis. Gladstone qualified three to the state tournament and put a handful more to the regionals, so there will definitely be some good matches throughout the dual. Whitehall by 28.
