Michigan sent a team to the 14U Duals in Oaks, Pennsylvania, over the weekend. In Freestyle, Michigan split their duals, finishing 2-2 in their pool. After a win over Washington in the first round, Michigan lost to Wisconsin. In the consis, Michigan would beat Colorado before losing to Iowa in the 3rd place match.
The 4th place finish sent Michigan to the Bronze/Cooper pool, where Michigan would against finish 2-2. Their wins included Oklahoma Blue and California in the 5th place match.
Carter Smith led the way, going 8-0 in freestyle, splitting time between 83lbs and 87lbs. Dakota Harmer also went undefeated in Freestyle, finishing the tournament 3-0.
In Greco, Michigan reached the pool finals after beating Colorado and Minnesota Red. In the pool finals, Michigan would fall to a loaded New Jersey team. Michigan would then have to wrestle a true 2nd match against Washington to reach the Gold pool. Unfortunately, Michigan would drop that dual, putting them in the Bronze/Copper pool.
In the Bronze pool, Michigan lost to tough teams from California, Pennsylvania, and Utah. A win over Florida would help Michigan secure a 6th place finish in the pool.
Carson Blum led the way with a perfect 6-0 record in Greco. Dakota Harmer added another 3 wins in Greco to finish with a 6-0 record on the week. Wesley Honiss also went 3-0 in the tournament.
