Stevensville Lakeshore 8th grade phenom Austin Franco has jumped out to an early lead in the Michigan Grappler Fab 50 Standings, with 112 points. Franco is 10 points ahead Dundee duo Dominick Lomazzo and Stoney Buell.
Franco has won 7 Fab 50 events already this year, including the Grappler Fall Classic, Border Wars Nationals, NUWAY Great Lakes Championships, and Spartan Country.
Lomazzo, the returning Fab 50 Wrestler of The Year, has carried his phenomal season from last year into this season with GFC, Border Wars, Great Lakes, and Spartan Country titles to start the year. Buell, an All-Future Team Member, has kept pace with Border Wars and Great Lakes titles among his early success.
The next Fab 50 event is the Holt "Rock N Roll" MYWAY Tournament on Feburary 9th, followed by the Liberty Nationals on February 22nd. There are still openings for events looking to be added to the Fab 50 schedule. Any interested tournament directors can contact admin@michigangrappler.com
The Fab 50 Standings are listed on the right hand side of this page in three ways:
1) The Fab 50 point standings in ranking order
2) A list of every wrestler's point total, listed in alphabetical order
3) A detailed report of each wrestlers' summer of tournament results, sorted in alphabetical order
PLEASE NOTE:
When compiling the results we did this with a combination of first and last name. When you register your wrestler in the future try to pick a consistent name for them to use in all leagues and events. For example if a wrester has a first name of James. Don’t register them with different first names like James, Jim, Jimmy or JT. Pick one first name and try to stick to it whenever they compete. If you find any results that have a different first name or a misspelled name email that to admin@michigangrappler.com
*Things after the last name cause problems when compiling the data. Things like Jr., II, III, IV, etc were listed differently between the different leagues so those were removed.
*There may be out of state and some high school wrestlers in our standings. We are not going to remove them since that would be hard to identify them all. It is not likely that an out of state or high school wrestler will end up in the top 50 standings at the end of the year. If however an out of state or high school ends up in the top 50 in the final standings we will remove them at that time.
Be sure to check Michigan Grappler and the Fab 50 Page for any updates to the Fab 50 schedule.
