17 RETURNING CHAMPS FEATURED IN 04-03 DIVISION

This storyline of this age division is really the emergence of Team Donahoe.  Over the last few years former NCAA Champ Paul Donahoe has built a premiere youth club in the Flint Area and this age division is an indication of that as almost every weight features a state title contender from Team Donahoe.

In addition to the Donahoe studs, Dundee has hammers all over the place as well, making this age division extremely competetive.  There are 17 total returning state champs and 6 weight classes with numerous returning state champs.

We are going to be in for a dog-fight from start to finish at this weight!  Three kids in this bracket who know how to win this tournament - Braeden Davis (Dundee), Easton Moran (Yale), and Patrick Wlodyga (Hartland) are returning champs.

Will Willer (AAGA) and Drew Heethuis (Linden) were within a couple points of Wlodyga at the NE Regionals and SW Regional Champ Nolan Wertanen (Coloma) is a hammer who has been all over the place at major tournaments this year with a lot of success.

While there are a good group of talented little studs sprinkled throughout this bracket, it looks like it might be a 2-horse race between Moran and Davis, who are on opposite sides of the chart and would meet in an epic finals match.  Moran won NUWAY Nationals last year and has gone 8 for 8 winning all the MYWAY Tournaments he has entered this year.  Davis, meanwhile, has been accross the country placing 2nd at Tulsa, winning the Tulsa Kickoff, and winning the GFC.  

Davis should reach the finals without issue, but Moran will have a rough road with Wertanen in the quarters and Wlodyga in the semis.
