Outlook: Lowell is well on their way to their 12th straight team state title, but that doesn't take away from the stellar job WWT did just to make it here. It seemed like Brother Rice was well on their way to their 4th straight appearance, but WWT came out of the region, qualifying for team state for the 10th time in their history. WWT may be able to win a few matches here with Gumtow, Richardson, and Golding. Lowell's 11 state qualifiers will be too much.
Prediction: Lowell +48
Outlook: This is arguably the best dual of day 1, especially because this is a #2 versus #7. Fowlerville is most likely better than a 7-seed, and they have been ranked higher than that for a majority of the year. Freeland has a lot of firepower with Leonard, Facundo, Hill, etc. Fowlerville has more of a steady lineup with a bunch of state qualifiers, but they do have some studs up top. This dual could come down to bonus points, and if Fowlerville can pick up some pins up top, they could be in a good spot to pick up the win. We also wouldn't be shocked if last year's D2 runner-ups make another run to the finals. This one is a coin flip, but we will go with the heavy hitters up top.
Prediction: Fowlerville +3
Outlook: Another fantastic dual here with two teams having outstanding seasons. NBH is making their third-ever appearance, and this could potentially be their first ever QF win. Linden also is making their 3rd team state appearance, with this being their first since 2007. This could potentially come down to a 7/7 split. If Linden wants to remain unbeaten on the year, they will need matches like Delgado over Hall, and maybe even bonus points from someone like Sage. Otherwise, we could be looking at Huron's first-ever team state win.
Prediction: New Boston Huron +3
Outlook: Three Rivers and Greenville are running it back in the quarterfinals for the second consecutive year. Greenville pulled off the mild upset last year to make it to the semis. Greenville could make this dual competitive, much like last year, but they would have to find one or two upsets. Otherwise, we could be looking at a Three Rivers showdown with Lowell, who would be heavily favored. TR has the 7-2 advantage on state qualifiers, and they likely will have too much for the Yellow Jackets.
Prediction: Three Rivers +14
