With Preseason Rankings, and really any of the individual rankings prior to January 1st, there is A LOT of guesswork. In all honesty, it’s really hard to try and figure out what weight class any of these kids will end up in once the post season rolls around. There are lots of factors that go into these guesses, such as their weight assessment, where other people on their team may or may not fit into the lineup, and what weight some of the elite wrestlers across the state are going. With that said these are the best guesses we have with the limited information up to this point in the season. Please keep in mind that if a wrestler has not yet taken weight assessment, then they are not included in the rankings. At this time, we only have a handful of freshmen in the top 15, and I am sure there will be plenty of errors. I try not have two kids from the same team in the same weight class, but sometimes things get overlooked. Also, with reclassification and the way I set up my spreadsheets, sometimes people get moved into the wrong classification, don't worry it will get fixed.
